This program will explore the investigatory process - from who should conduct the investigation, legal issues to beware of, how to order and structure investigatory interviews, dealing with Garrity issues, and how to generate an end-product that will help your employer resolve what happened and what needs to be done. The program will focus on identifying the key elements of an effective workplace investigation process, and help attendees understand the importance of the process and the consequences if it is not done properly.

Academy courses are held 8:00am - 4:00pm and require an individual's attention and active participation. It is advised attendees should plan to be offline from their daily tasks when attending an academy session. Emergencies aside, active participation is required to successfully complete a course and to count towards CLRP certification. Failure to meet these expectations may result in an attendee being deemed non-participatory and unsuccessful in completing the course without a refund. National PELRA staff will send the Zoom meeting link one (1) week prior to the session. Payment or proof of payment processing may be required to attend the session.
