One of the primary responsibilities of a supervisor is addressing performance issues. In this program we will:
- Review best practices for evaluating an employee’s job performance, including how to draft an effective Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) and an Annual Evaluation.
- Discuss how to deliver quality feedback and how to have a difficult conversation.
- Discuss the difference between counseling and discipline.
- Discuss what constitutes “just cause” or “good cause” for discipline.
- How to document performance concerns and issue progressive discipline.
- Review the legal requirements of Weingarten Rights and Loudermill Hearings.
