One of the primary responsibilities of a supervisor is addressing performance issues. In this program we will:

• Review best practices for evaluating an employee’s job performance, including how to draft an effective Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) and an Annual Evaluation.
• Discuss how to deliver quality feedback and how to have a difficult conversation.
• Discuss the difference between counseling and discipline.
• Discuss what constitutes “just cause” or “good cause” for discipline.
• How to document performance concerns and issue progressive discipline.
• Review the legal requirements of Weingarten Rights and Loudermill Hearings.
