Tuesday, March 3rd:
The Secret to Successful ADA Disability Interactive Processes
If you’ve ever hemmed or hawed over whether accommodations are reasonable, then don’t miss this training. It’s not uncommon for discussions between employees and employers and ultimately decisionmaking to get emotional when it comes to reasonable accommodations. Diffuse these situations and keep actions and conversations focused on data – including facts on what the employee is medically capable of doing, and on what the employee is required to do. Fact collecting is the most important step in your process. While collecting data and having parties agree on essential functions is vital, getting clear medical information from health care providers is more difficult. From vague medical reports to accommodation recommendations and unclear restrictions such as “no heavy lifting or prolonged standing,” learn how clear medical data can save time and money.
Why You Matter: Why Knowing Your Stuff is Not Enough
For over 15 years, Rachel has had the privilege of working closely with countless public sector professionals, gaining a unique perspective from the front lines. This invaluable experience has fueled her research into what truly contributes to long-term happiness and success in public sector careers. While this course may diverge from her usual fast-paced, topic-specific "disability compliance" trainings, Rachel’s true passion has always been coaching and championing her clients. Drawing from her extensive background in HR and Risk Management within City and School District settings, Rachel offers both insider and outsider perspectives to help retain and inspire top talent in this vital field. Join her for an insightful session designed to remind you of your importance in the public sector and provide the tools to thrive throughout your career. Let’s work together to keep the best talent engaged in this essential work. See you there!
